A little bit about BRSAR
Brazeau Regional Search & Rescue was founded in November 1995 to provide the county with assistance in educating about wilderness safety and survival, as well as providing search and rescue services.
SAR is a volunteer based organization that provides its members with training and skill development to promote the best outcome when they are deployed. BRSAR team members train for all types of conditions and terrain. With a diverse backcountry in the area, BRSAR is often deployed to dense wilderness, river or lake side areas, fields, backroads or even into local communities to help locate missing people, perform evidence searches, or educate youth and adults on how to stay safe while having fun in the wilderness.
SAR members are a resource to local first responders during emergencies and disasters. BRSAR members are not only trained in search and rescue skills but also trained in disaster response, first aid, wilderness survival, rope rescue, Swiftwater rescue, tracking and mounted rescue.
BRSAR is a non-profit organization that relies on sponsorship, donation and partnerships with local businesses and groups. Each year our members provide first-aid stations, traffic control and security for events to help raise money for our organization. BRSAR members are all volunteers who have a passion for the outdoors and giving back to their local community while having fun learning new or developing their skills with like minded people.
BRSAR is partnered with AdventureSmart to provide outdoor education to youth and adults. Click on the link for more info or to book an AdventureSmart Outdoor Educator. https://www.adventuresmart.ca/
